England players will pick up a cat from Qatar after their exit from the 2022 World Cup.


Manchester City defenders John Stones and Kyle Walker made friends with a stray tabby cat they met at the team`s base in Al Wakrah.


Stones named the beast Dave, and Walker promised to take him to England if the team won the World Cup. Despite being eliminated by France at the quarter-final stage, the British decided to take the animal with them.


The cat was taken to a local veterinary clinic to receive the necessary tests and vaccinations. Dave will spend four months in quarantine before he is likely to be sent to Man City or taken over by Stones or Walker.


He`s Stonezy and I`s adopted son. Some people don`t like the cat, but I love him, " Walker said.


Kyle said Dave got into a fight with another cat on the eve of the English-French match, but is now fine.


Let us remind you that during the 2022 World Cup, a video of a cat from a press conference of the Brazilian national team went viral. The animal jumped onto the table next to Vinicius Junior before the quarter-final against Croatia, and the team`s press officer roughly threw the cat to the floor. The Brazilians then lost to the Croats in a penalty shootout and left the tournament.
