San Antonio broke the attendance record for a single NBA regular season game on Friday night when defending champion Golden State visited the Texas club.


The Spurs sold 68, 623 tickets for the game, which took place at the Alamodome, the club`s former arena in San Antonio.


The Texans played at the old arena to celebrate the club`s 50th anniversary. Warriors won 144 to 113.


The previous record stood for almost 25 years. On March 27, 1998, 62, 046 people gathered at the Georgia Dome to watch Michael Jordan and Chicago play against local Atlanta.
