Haas boss Gunther Steiner said the team is considering developing most of the car`s components in-house.


At the moment, Haas is working with Ferrari and receives from the Italians a lot of technical components of the car, in addition to the power plant itself.


We are able to independently develop transmission, suspension, be a more independent team. Initially, we thought about it back in 2018 and prepared an action plan.


We should have reached this goal within a couple of years, but in 2020 the pandemic hit and it set us back a lot. And instead of implementing these plans, the team had to think about how to survive in the current situation. And at that moment we did not have time to think about autonomy.


Now we are again thinking about how to become less dependent on others. Let`s see what happens in the upcoming season, and then make a decision. But I think that in two or three years it will be possible, " Steiner said.
