Audi has commented on the appointment of Andreas Seidl as CEO of Sauber.


Seidl has been McLaren`s boss since 2019, and previously led Porsche`s WEC program and won three 24 Hours of Le Mans races in a row. Audi and Porsche are part of the Volkswagen group.


From 2026, Sauber, who competes in Formula 1 as Alfa Romeo, will become an Audi factory team.


We welcome the choice of our future partner. Andreas Seidl has extensive experience in motorsport programs, having worked with both manufacturers and the Formula 1 team. Its track record in motorsport is impressive, " said Audi technical director Oliver Hoffman.
